Do I need a facial oil?
When building a skincare regime some of the most common questions are:
a) Do I really need a facial oil?
b) Where does my facial oil sit in my skincare regime?
So, we are here to break down the ins and outs of facial oils, because there is a perfect oil out there for you, you just haven’t met her yet!
Why a facial oil?
Facial oils are the basics of any skincare routine. After cleansing and treating your skin, a good facial oil will protect, repair and replenish your skin cells. Whether it be protecting your skin from dehydration or balancing your sebum levels, investing in a facial oil that leaves you feeling and looking great is a must! No matter your skin type, The Jojoba Company has an oil that’s perfect for you!
But why Wadi-Wadi Jojoba?
Using our signature Wadi-Wadi Jojoba at the heart of our entire collection, our facial oils are no different. Bursting with the incredible benefits of our premium Jojoba, we have carefully formulated four facial oils dedicated to some core skin concerns (dry, ageing, oily and pigmentation). With essential omegas and vitamins, Wadi-Wadi Jojoba is the perfect base for any skincare product. Providing you with the building blocks to strengthen the surface layers of your skin for a smoother, healthier and younger looking complexion.
How to use a facial oil?
Because Jojoba is the same molecular structure as our skin’s own oil, it is also classified as a ‘light weight oil’ meaning that it should be applied BEFORE your moisturiser. This allows your skin to absorb all of the above benefits allowing you to get the most out of your skincare.
Looks like oil, results like nothing else.
Jojoba is the only plant to store liquid wax in its seeds. Sharing the same molecular structure as the natural oils found in healthy human skin, making it more receptive to vital nutrients and antioxidants, restoring balance, and helping your skin behave as it was always designed to do.
Selecting the right facial oil
With a smaller molecular size, Wadi-Wadi Jojoba is fabulous for oily skin because it completely absorbs without sitting on the skin’s surface and given time, it will help regulate sebum production. Harnessing the power of bakuchiol and parsley seed oil to not only clear pores but to prevent and heal breakouts. Try our clinically proven Skin Balancing Oil to restore balance.SHOP
With a high concentration of vitamin E, Wadi-Wadi Jojoba protects the skin from ageing, helping prevent fine lines and wrinkles whilst regenerating collagen and elastin. Enhanced with our patented ingredient L22, not only does the Ultimate Youth Potion reverse all signs of ageing, but it also increases skin firmness and luminosity.SHOP
Our vitamin C rich Pigmentation Oil, uses clinically proven ingredients Rumex and Tyrostat to even skin tone and reduce pigmentation / dark spots. This hydrating oil is perfect for those seeking that healthy natural glow.SHOP
With a unique 50/50 blend of our pure Wadi-Wadi Jojoba and Rosehip Oil, this facial oil is our most moisturising oil. Non-comedogenic, this facial oil works to moisturise beneath the surface of the skin reducing the appearance of scars.SHOP
When do I use a facial oil?
Because Jojoba is the same molecular structure as our skin’s own oil (and actually classified a liquid wax ester - not an oil at all!), it is considered a ‘light weight oil’ meaning that it should be applied BEFORE your moisturiser.
We have carefully formulated four facial oils dedicated to some core skin concerns (dry, ageing, oily and pigmentation) with Wadi-Wadi Jojoba as the main ingredient. Teeming with essential omegas and vitamins, Jojoba is the perfect base for any skincare product. Providing you with the building blocks to strengthen the surface layers of your skin for a smoother, healthier and younger looking complexion.
How often should I oil my face?
Once in the AM and once in the PM! Using a different facial oil in the morning and at night can help target different skin concerns. For example, target ageing concerns in the morning with our Ultimate Youth Potion and pigmentation issues in the evening with Pigmentation Oil.
Which is better serum or oil?
A serum and a facial oil are very different products therefor they target very different issues. Layered together, a serum and facial oil nourish the skin on different levels, helping soothe, hydrate and moisturise your skin from the inside out.
Can I use a facial oil if I have acne?
YES! Contrary to popular belief, there are facial oils designed to help banish acne. Acne is an imbalance in the skin started by an over production of sebum. Designed to rebalance that over production of sebum, pure Wadi-Wadi Jojoba is a great component to help acne prone skin. Try opting for the Skin Balancing Oil, which enhances the natural benefits of Jojoba with Bakuchiol (nature’s retinol).
What Oil is best for oily skin?
Reach for our Skin Balancing Oil to combat oily skin. With Parsley, Akoactive Nile Lily and Bakuchiol, the Skin Balancing Oil is clinically proven to rebalance your sebum production and designed to minimise breakouts.
Can I mix oil with a moisturiser?
Even though Jojoba is a liquid wax ester, it is often described as a carrier oil. This makes our pure Australian Jojoba great for mixing with moisturisers, helping carry the components of your cream deeper into the skin, increasing hydration and retaining moisture
Can I mix my face oils with foundation?
Yes! With Wadi-Wadi Jojoba at the heart of our entire skincare range, our specialised face oils can be mixed with your foundation. Helping create a natural long-lasting glow, combining the two is a great trick.
Can I leave my Jojoba oil on my face overnight?
You sure can! As a liquid wax ester, Jojoba is instantly absorbed into the skin leaving minimal residue on your face. This means you can rest your head on your pillow knowing your pure Australia Jojoba won’t wipe off your face and won’t stain your sheets.
Do you wash off Jojoba?
Great question! One of the great things about Jojoba is that there are so many different ways to use it. This also means…there is no wrong way to use it too! Jojoba is a great makeup remover so before you jump in the shower apply a pump or two on your face, gently massage into your skin and watch your makeup glide off. To ensure a clean face we would recommend washing your Jojoba off either with a splash of water or a cleanser. However, if you are using Jojoba as a facial oil there is no need to wash it off.
Can I use too much Jojoba?
More is not necessarily merrier when it comes to skincare products. If you are experiencing pilling or if your skin isn’t absorbing your products, we recommend using less. One to two pumps of our Australian Jojoba is plenty for the face.
